GAYBORHOODIES will strive to provide a range of designs that are fun, spread awareness all while raising money for Families with Cancer: with 50% of net proceeds donated to Bringing Hope Home and The Walk to Defeat ALS.
In 2020, Denise Cohen owner of the LGBTQ+ Toasted Walnut Bar & Kitchen in Philadelphia, was diagnosed with stage IIIC2 Uterine Cancer. Her battle, coupled with the pandemic, led to the closing of that community space. Denise endured a brutal series of chemo and radiation treatments which led to her becoming permanently disabled. Unfortunately, she will be unable to return to physically hosting events or operating a business.
But, silver linings…
During her 30+ years in the event and bar business in bars such as Hepburn's and Sisters Nightclub, Denise worked to raise over $500,000 for different groups and charities. GAYBORHOODIES will extend her charitable commitment. Using her designs and ideas to create original work, Gayborhoodies will donate 50% of net proceeds to Families Fighting Cancer: Bringing Hope Home and The Walk to Defeat ALS.
